The cities of Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and Brookhaven often are referred to as cities at the “top end” of the Perimeter, which is I-285 around metro Atlanta. Within the past few years and continuing into at least the next decade, the top end itself is being transformed. The Perimeter as well as GA-400 is expanding, express lanes will be built, MARTA stations are revitalizing, and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is on the horizon. The “top end” mayors themselves have a working group along with mayors of a few surrounding cities, to discuss these mutually beneficial issues. They shared with the Chronicle new information on some of the major transportation projects happening now.
